Integrated Comunity Development Society

The Integrated Community Development Society (ICDS) is a non-profit, voluntary development organization operating in the coastal regions of southern Bangladesh. Established on 1 July 2007 by a group of committed young social activists, ICDS aims to bring sustainable improvements in the lives of marginalized and vulnerable communities.

ICDS follows an integrated and participatory development approach, ensuring active involvement of community members in planning, implementation, and monitoring processes. This bottom-up methodology enables the organization to effectively respond to the real needs and priorities of its target populations.

The organization implements programs addressing key development challenges, including limited access to education, technological exclusion, environmental vulnerability, gender inequality, and child protection. ICDS is committed to promoting human rights, human dignity, gender equity, and social inclusion, aligning its interventions with national priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

ICDS has a well-defined governance structure comprising a 21-member General Body and a 7-member Executive Committee (EC), ensuring accountability, transparency, and effective strategic oversight. The Executive Director serves as the chief executive, responsible for overall organizational management and program implementation, and reports directly to the Chairperson.

With over a decade of experience, ICDS has developed strong community linkages and institutional capacity to design and deliver impactful, scalable, and sustainable development interventions.
